Staff Accountant - Audit

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented staff accountant to join our Audit team. The ideal candidate should have a strong interest in accounting and auditing, possess excellent analytical and communication skills, and be able to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for providing support in the planning, execution, and reporting of audit engagements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning and execution of audit engagements under the supervision of senior auditors
  • Conduct audit procedures in accordance with auditing standards and firm policies
  • Analyze financial statements and accounting records to identify potential errors and misstatements
  • Prepare workpapers documenting audit procedures and findings
  • Assist in the preparation of audit reports and other deliverables for clients
  • Communicate effectively with clients and team members to ensure audit objectives are met
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in auditing standards, accounting regulations, and industry trends

Qualifications:

  • Dedicated individual that values integrity, quality, and professionalism.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or master’s degree in accounting
  • Minimum of 40 hours of continuing professional education is required each year.
  • Proficiency in use of computers and computer accounting / tax software programs.
  • Well-rounded knowledge of accounting principles and personal income taxes.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in English.
  • Either holds a current and valid certified public accountant’s license or is working toward obtaining the license by taking and passing the applicable state CPA exam.
